My story

Who is Nova the cat? According to her previous owner, “Nova is a sweet, shy girl with a heart of gold. She might be quiet at first, but once she trusts you, she’s your shadow for life. Loyal to the core, Nova loves nothing more than bird watching from her favorite window perch and going full zoomie mode chasing her laser. She’s soft, stealthy, and secretly the queen of the house”. Our experience at the shelter with Nova has been a slow and steady gain of trust. Nova is initially timid and shy. Nova is seeking a patient and loving family to give her the space and support she needs to thrive! Nova previously lived briefly with another cat with whom she coexisted and seemed to enjoy the company. She may do well with another friendly, lowkey cat to be her buddy and boost her confidence, following a proper feline introduction of course! Nova is a special lady who came to the shelter due to a change in her previous owner’s living situation. Nova has been made available for a 30-day Adoption Audition period to get to know her new potential adopter(s) and their home environment.This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 30-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
