My story

Sweetpea is a boy of many personalities—a cuddle bug, a rambunctious burst of energy, and of course, an absolute sweet pea. Initially he can be quite nervous, but he’ll redirect that energy by looking to you for reassurance and a sense of security. Pretty soon, he’ll be crawling into your lap and leaning in for snuggles, and neither of you will want to leave. This boy is a shy, gentle soul who needs a calm, patient home where he can take his time to feel safe. Once he’s in a safe space where he can establish a consistent routine and get lots of positive reinforcement, he’ll come out of his shell in no time. He’d do best with someone who wants to form a tight bond with their new dog and can spend lots of quality time with him to make him feel adored. Sweetpea can be nervous around small children, so we would recommend he go to a home with no one under 12 years old. He also may have some tendencies toward separation anxiety, so if you’re a home-body, Sweetpea would love you for it. He originally came to us after a kind person witnessed him being thrown from a car and brought him here for a fresh start. With love and patience, we know he’ll blossom into a wonderful, loyal and loving companion.
