My story

Bernard is estimated to be about 8 years young. We don`t know his history, but we`re hoping the rest of his story has a happy ending! He `holds it` in his kennel, meaning he keeps his kennel clean and can wait until he goes outside on walks to do his business. This could indicate that he is potty trained or would be easy to train. Are you looking for a new companion that is past the high energy puppy phase? Seniors make great pets! Just ask Bernard - he`ll show you! Like all our adult dogs, Bernard will need to meet future canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. At the main campus, you can bring your dog along when you come for adoptions if you like. Bernard was able to go on a Dog Day Out recently and here is what they had to say, `Bernard was so much fun! He was eager for an adventure. I took him hiking on the Riverside Nature Trails. At first, he was so excited he couldn`t help but pull a little. But he soon calmed and we had a nice walk. He focuses and sits readily at the mention of treats. He was very calm around the many fellow hikers we encountered. After we were worn out, we went for a little drive with the AC blasting. He was great in the car. And what a cutie!`Bernard is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home!His ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
