My story

Meet Chippy - proof that even after life throws everything it can at you, there’s still room for joy. At 13 years old, Chippy’s been through more than most dogs ever will. He was surrendered to us when his owner no longer had time for him, but the truth is, Chippy had been neglected for a long time before that. Severe dental disease left him missing most of his teeth and with a malformed jaw. He lost one eye after being attacked by another dog, and the other eye eventually went blind from untreated chronic dry eye. On top of that, he’s deaf, arrived with a skin infection, and has some hind-end weakness.Sounds heavy, right? But here’s where Chippy will surprise you - none of that has dimmed his spirit one bit. The moment he arrived he settled in like he’s always belonged. Despite not being able to see or hear, Chippy has built his own vibrant little world. He happily toddles around, makes friends by feel and scent, soaks up belly rubs, and happily lounges in the sunshine like he’s got it all figured out.Because of his medical conditions, Chippy isn’t a candidate for anesthesia. He can’t undergo any major procedures like neutering or dentals, so what you see is what you get. And what you get is a resilient little soul with endless heart. He can still walk around a bit, takes care of his potty needs on his own, and most importantly, he’s happy. He's on a couple lifelong meds, and his future adopter will need to stay on top of his medical needs, but we promise he's so worth the extra care!Chippy doesn’t need much, just a quiet, cozy home where he can finally be spoiled the way he should have been all along. Someone with senior dog experience would be perfect, but above all, he just wants love, comfort, and a soft place to land.
