My story

Meet Porter Age: 3 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Orange Tabby Special Note: FIV+ (but thriving!) Porter is a handsome, resilient orange tabby with striking eyes and a strong, “manly” face that tells the story of a survivor. Rescued from a trailer park where he lived in harsh conditions, Porter has overcome a rough start to life. From fleas and filth to comfort and care, he’s finally safe indoors—and now he’s ready for a forever home. He’s a chill, gentle guy who doesn’t ask for much: a cool spot on the floor to nap, a few Churus or Greenies to snack on, and someone to listen. Yes, Porter is a talker! If you're looking for a cat with stories to share, he’s your man. Porter is good with other cats and has done well adjusting to indoor life. While he’s not much for toys, he’s very food motivated and always curious about what’s going on around him. He hasn’t been tested with dogs or children yet. Porter is FIV+, which simply means his immune system is weaker. He can live a long, happy life with proper care. FIV is only transmitted through deep bite wounds, so he can safely live with other friendly cats. He currently eats Purina One Adult dry food and Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers (chicken), and he’s doing great! This sweet, communicative, and resilient boy has never known a true home—will you be the one to show him what love and comfort really mean? Cats with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) can live for many years, potentially as long as uninfected cats, if they receive proper care and management. While FIV weakens the immune system, many cats remain asymptomatic for extended periods and can live healthy lives. However, they may be more susceptible to secondary infections, so vigilant monitoring and prompt treatment of any illnesses are crucial. 📧 Interested in meeting me? Email billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com and check out our adoption info for fees and details. ‼️ Don’t forget to spay and neuter—help control the pet population! 💯

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Porter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
