My story

MarieSpayed Female1-2 years old30 poundsMixed breed (chihuahua/lab)Perfect medium-chill energy Marie was rescued from a hoarding situation in TN and has come such a long way in her first week and a half here. She is timid around new people, and especially skittish around men and children, but with time and patience (and ham!), she will open up, showing you her loving, silly, quirky nature. Marie will need a patient adopter who can let her warm up to people at her own pace and help build her confidence. She would not do well with young kids at this time. She would do well with a friendly confident doggie pal (she seems to do better with dogs her size or bigger). Things she loves:- Walks (she’s a dream on a leash!) & any time spent outside- Neck scratches & belly rubs- Zoomies- Squeaky toys- Fetch (she loves the chasing part, but hasn’t learned the giving it back part yet)- Curling up next to you on the couch- Human food (guard those plates!) Things she’s working on:Potty training- Trusting new people (especially men and children)- Building confidence Foster mom’s favorite thing about her:- Her little yoga routine post-nap or post-crate: downward-facing dog, upward-facing dog, climb up your legs for an extra big stretch and hopefully some neck scratches.- The way she “hits snooze” each morning: After everyone else is awake and making noise around her – she will lift her head, stare at you, then burrow down in her dog bed for a few extra Z’s.- Her big bat ears & curlicue tail.
