Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! From the foster: Meet your new loyal companion, Chestnut! This sweet, sensitive girl has been waiting patiently for her perfect forever home. Chessy can be reserved when she meets new people, but once she decides you're safe, she will follow you everywhere you go! She needs a forever family who understands the rule of 3's (3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to establish a routine, and up to 3 months to fully settle in) and who will be willing to have the patience to work with her on her confidence in new situations. She absolutely loves belly rubs, squeaky toys, mealtimes, cats, and playing with other puppies. She is also doing well with her leash training and enjoys walks to the park near her foster home. Chestnut is a very smart girl and once she has her routine down, she is one step ahead of you! Time to get in the crate for bedtime? Just open the door and she will stroll right in and curl up for the night. Commands like "sit" and "come" are also a breeze for her and she is fully potty trained and sleeps soundly through the night. Her sensitive nature means that she does struggle with some separation anxiety and therefore would do best in a home with another dog or an owner who works from home or is retired and home a lot. She does great in her crate when she has a companion to share it with. Otherwise, she is more than happy to snooze the night away on her foster mom's bed. With her needs met, Chessy will become the most loyal friend you could have! **Again, I would do best in a home with at least one other dog, and/or someone who works from home. In the time after my littermate was adopted I began to get anxious when I was left alone for longer periods, and once managed to get out of my wire crate, indicating stress. When another dog was in the home, I didn't display these concerns.** www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
