My story

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! From the foster: This little girl is a catch! If you are reading this, I know you are drawn to her eyes and her coloring but just know she's going to be a handful and still require lots of training. She's not just a pretty face, she is smart too. And that means a next level velociraptor phase and a dog that needs strong and consistent boundaries. She will immediately attach herself to a human but needs a little more time getting comfortable with new dogs - she could use a confident and gentle resident dog to teach her how to dog. She growls initially to generate boundaries and space (which is good) she just needs a resident dog that will keep gently trying to be her friend and she will come around quickly. She's also overall just a nervous dog and will need deliberate confidence training. In my house, she eats twice a day and stays in a wire crate overnight or when I go to work. She's a bit of a nervous eater, but she will eat the amount she needs and leave the rest (no food aggression). She is still working on potty training, and will piddle when nervous or excited, but is good about holding it in the crate. She does not like the crate and will need some deliberate positive crate training. We have not done any sort of leash training, but I think she'll take to that pretty easily because she loves to be right next to her human. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
