My story

Meet Maeuschen — The Mighty Minipin with a Big Heart! Hi there! My name is Maeuschen (pronounced My-shen — it's German for "little mouse"). My foster mom gave me that name, and it’s stuck — probably because it fits my sweet, spunky personality perfectly! I’m an 8-month-old Miniature Pinscher, which basically means I’m a teenager in dog years — full of energy, curiosity, and yes, a bit of attitude! I weigh about 25 pounds, but don’t let my size fool you — I’ve got a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. My story hasn’t been easy. I don’t remember how I ended up on the streets of San Antonio, but I was scared, hungry, and alone. A kind man picked me up and gave me a temporary home, but he knew I needed more than he could offer — and that’s how I found my way to my amazing foster mom. But this isn’t the end of my story — it’s just the beginning. I’m dreaming of a forever home where I can thrive, grow, and be part of a loving family. Here’s a little about me: I’m super social — I love people and make instant friends with other dogs. Seriously, it only takes a second! Cats? Still trying to figure them out. They don’t want to play with me, which is confusing. I LOVE to play fetch (and I’m getting better at bringing the toy back — promise!). I need a family that’s active and engaged — I’m not a couch potato, and I love mental and physical stimulation. People have said I’d make a great service or working dog with the right training — and I think they’re on to something! I’m sweet, loyal, smart, and full of potential.
