My story

Location: Kettering, OH Food: Earthborn Holistic's Meadow Feast Medication: Monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Have you ever seen a hurricane of adorableness? If not, be prepared to meet me -- NINO! Before I tell you about my quirks.. let me tell you a little about me. Listen, I am just going to be blunt here. I AM AWESOME! I may be 6 years old but I bring the energy to any session of play. I love other dogs, can run like the wind, and am pretty into stuffies and chasing balls. As hard as I play... I LOVE EVEN HARDER. My absolute favorite place is right next to you. I am a proud certified cuddler and stalker and I won't make any excuses for it. If you are my people, you won't mind it. Just consider me your new BFF and I will consider you mine. When I first came into rescue, I struggled with some anxiety about new places and surroundings. My foster momma says that I was just being "nutty Nino". I scared everyone here because the stress was causing me to have issues controlling my colon! I went to the vet and had quite a few tests done right away. Once they figured out that I was healthy -- just scared and lost, they went straight to work on building my confidence! Now, if you wanna toss me in the car for a ride - no problem. Take me shopping? Yes, please! Take me on play dates with other pups.. absolutely! I am pretty agreeable at all times, so long as you are by my side! Now to my... "quirks"! Let's talk about the crate, shall we? I hate 'em. Don't like 'em, not interested, and definitely not about that life. My foster family has given it their best try to get me to acclimate to the "divo den" but I held strong! You can put me in a crate because I technically "am" trained... I am just going to tell you all about how much I hate it. At nighttime, I like to be right by you or on the floor but can hang out in my crate, so long as I can see you (there goes that stalker thing again). Honestly though, the crate anxiety is REAL and it incites my "stress colon" and I will let my foster momma tell you about that! When it comes to my potty habits, I am 110% potty trained but -- here is where it gets weird - I like to be a social butterfly with my potty habits! I need a playmate in my forever home who doesn't mind going outside with me to "handle my business". So long as I have company, I am totally fine and have zero accidents. Without a playmate to follow - or while on leash, I try to hold it as long as I can. I am working on my confidence though and am doing great - I have even pottied alone a few times! If those two things don't weird you out... then you might be my people! Go ahead and send you application through and let's see if we are about to be Best Friends Forever, I am ready and waiting for you! Hope to snuggle you soon, Nino

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nino, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
