My story

**Note: Oreo is currently in Toronto, waiting for her forever family. Background: Oreo was rescued last summer from a dog meat farm in Goesan, Korea. She spent her life confined to a filthy cage, surviving on inedible human food waste. After her rescue, she moved to our boarding house, where she lived with other dogs until she left Korea. Oreo currently lives in a foster home in Toronto. Personality and Socialization: Initially shy especially around men, Oreo has blossomed into a friendly, social dog who welcomes visitors with a wagging tail and a big smile. She has a medium energy level and is calmer than most Labrador mixes. Gentle, friendly, and submissive, Oreo gets along well with dogs of all sizes. With people, she is affectionate and loving, always eager for attention. Behaviour: Oreo is well-mannered and generally quiet indoors. She may bark a little if she hears a strange noise or sees someone unfamiliar, but it’s never excessive. She’s great with baths and car rides, and does her business outdoors, though she’ll use pee pads if needed. Oreo walks nicely on a leash, staying close to her person—though she can get a bit excited and pull when she spots a squirrel. Health and Diet: Oreo has undergone thorough veterinary checkups and is in great health. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. She takes monthly parasite preventatives and eats kibble twice a day, with no known allergies. Ideal Home: Oreo is an easygoing dog who would be a great match for first-time dog parents or families looking for a second dog. After enduring such a difficult past, she deserves a loving home where she’ll be cherished as a central part of the family.
