My story

*This dog is scheduled to arrive in Grimsby, Ontario on Saturday, June 28*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Newtron is a fun-loving young pup! He is well mannered in the kennel considering his age, is easy to leash, walks like a champ, takes directions well, and has been friendly with everyone hes met. Hes a funny 'Shmedium', small medium sized stout guy - with lots of loving energy to give. Newtron has had good interactions off leash with other dogs and has a good give and take' play style. Hes able to take a hint when the other dog doesnt want to play at his speed - but is happy to oblige another dog who wants to play at a higher speed. Newtron would thrive in most any living environments - but does need some work on not jumping up to you to say 'hi!'. Name: NewtronBreed: Mixed breed, Bulldog Shepherd? Age: ~10 months Weight: ~40lbSex: Male, neutered Colour: BrownMedical: No concerns Good with men: Yes, friendlyGood with women: Yes, friendlyGood with kids 0-6: Unknown, not tested but suspect yes based on temperament. However, he needs manners and jumps up. Good with kids 7-15: Yes, but has not lived with kids. Kids have good dog etiquette and are ok with some puppy jumping while Newtron learns his manners. When the dog meets new people, he: Approaches happily/outgoing, Wants affection, Happy tail wag, Loose body languageGood with dogs: Yes, loves being around and playing with other dogsHow does this dog react to meeting new dogs? Very playful and outgoing, Loose body language, Jumpy/overly excitedWhat type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? Newtron does well with dogs of all temperaments / sizes - as he has a fair amount of respect for other dogs that don't want to play at his speed. BUT - he would probably prefer another active outgoing dog to run around with.Good with Cats: Presumed to be good with cats based on cat-testIf cat tested, please explain how the dog was tested and what their reaction was.We walked Newtron on leash through our cat room - and he did great! He was swatted and hissed at / showed a healthy and respectful fear of the cats / and did not react to them being thereafter. He would need slow and proper intros. Crate training: Enters crate with coaxing, Settles quickly and quietly, Settles after some barking/whiningHouse training: Working on it - about 50% thereResource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Walks wellEnergy level: Puppy-MediumAreas to work on: Excitability/jumping up on people, mannersWhat type of environments would NOT be suitable for the dog? None, this dog would be fine in any environmentAny noted separation anxiety? As Newtron adjusts to his foster home he is showing signs of separation anxiety. Foster family is working on it. Barker: Average What would be the ideal home for this dog?Newtron would love to live in a home that would offer him a moderately active lifestyle with plenty of play time - and plenty of couch time. He could do well in a house or an apartment as long as they are willing to go on plenty of walks. Newtron would love to live in a home with another outgoing and active dog - but does temper his play style to the other dog.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Newtron, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
