My story

COURTESY POST ONLY: Please contact owner via email listed below. Thank you! Tin Tin is a Swedish Lapphund mix that is about 8 years old. He is an extremely affectionate and smart dog that has a past that has led him to have some behavioral quirks that an experienced person can handle. With love and a lot patience, you will see just how much of a cuddlebug he really is. The best environment for him to thrive in would be a home with no children and preferably one where he is the only pet. He is house trained, crate trained, dog door trained and knows all basic commands. He understands "no" means to stop and "excuse me" means for him to move over. He knows what "go to your place" entails and "go to bed." He does not destroy furniture or personal items, nor will he take things that he knows do not belong to him. On top of all this, he has lifetime training and behavioral help with Bark Busters that will follow him to his new home. Some of his favorite activities include nose work, puzzles and learning new things. When he prefers to play independently, chewing on his toys and curling up beside you to watch a movie is where you'll find him. The best way to see his playful side is to take him outside and explore together. Tin Tin has anxiety that has put him on daily Fluoxitine, but it allows him to lead a much more normal life when in a safe environment. He is up to date on vaccinations through the VCA animal hospital on Mountain Vista and is has a clean bill of health. When it comes to his fears, he doesnt do well with loud booming sounds, like fireworks and would do best somewhere that is quieter. He is not a fan of strangers, especially men, preferring them to keep their distance, but will warm up to you with time. With strong leadership and an even stronger bond, Tin Tin will look to you to guide him and comfort him to get through his fears without issue. He has successfully been boarded many times at places like the Henderson Pet Resort and goes to the vet without incident. When asleep, Tin Tin tends to go into a sleep slumber where he forgets his environment. To safely wake him, you must call him from a distance and wait to approach when he looks at you and makes eye contact. This allows him the time to remember where he is and safely assess the situation. Overall, Tin Tin is a dog who just wants to spend every moment with you and be part of the pack. He's a bit of a couch potato with bursts of positive energy throughout the day. He just needs a compassionate and understanding person to take him in. If you have any interest in taking on this sweet pup, please contact me through axemory@msn.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tin Tin, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
