My story

David’s head is as big as his heart…and that’s pretty big! David was found tied to a fence in the city with another dog, but he’s not letting his past bring him down. At the shelter, David has been very friendly. He walks good on a leash, including walking right by other dogs without any pulling. He does want to say hi to all the humans, but he’s just an outgoing dude! David likes pets all over and takes treats gently. David came in with another dog and may be dog friendly – but you should always bring a potential fur sibling in for a meet! Come meet David today at the shelter! ACCT is open every day from 10am-6pm. Videos: Macho/David drop leash meets: https://youtu.be/mBeUxnewNq0 https://youtu.be/aT0BVUk8sKo Playgroup 6/20: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcnvoGYrJkIb9cygzeHTnSibDqfi3etGH Meet David: https://youtube.com/shorts/6cD0ba0XucI?si=Iyed5rL1Y1KP2dvb David knows sit: https://youtube.com/shorts/9-L8HVMpV2o?si=vDfb4zSEvHo-l0nk Behavior: Per Staff 8/10/25: Kennel Presentation: David had soft eyes and a wagging tail. he was pawing at the leash as i reached in. Leash Skills: pulled minimal to moderate Sociability: David was very loose and wiggly in the yard. he was a playful pup and played on his own. he did some play huff to engage with me. he darted around and would go back and forth with toys, tossing them in the air. he allowed all handling and a unit of a dog thats full of snuggles. he is a gentle giant with a very rambunctious character but was gentle and social with adopters that greeted him Play: engaged in play Dog Interaction:n/a Return to Kennel:went right back into the kennel Color Level:green Recommendations and considerations Volunteer 6/19/25: David was loose and wiggly in his kennel. Really easy to leash and did not pull much. He’s really good on a leash and barely pulls. Outside we came across two dogs and he pretty much ignored them and kept going. Walked by the welcome center and he did not really have any interest in those dogs either- but he did come in with another dog and is kenneled with his “fur brother”. David remained loose and kept moving. In the dog run with me he takes treats so gently and he’s a really sweet boy. He allows handling all over, no concerns. He wanted to say hi to all humans! Also appears house trained. Volunteer noted 6/18/25: Beau is the most mild-mannered boy. He approached the kennel door curiously with a loose body, was easy to leash, and walked so gently on a leash out to the yard. He didn’t seem overly interested in interacting but was content to walk around the area sniffing. He did come over eventually to solicit some gentle pets but lost interest quickly. He does seem to be house broken and didn’t pay much attention to other dogs that passed by. He returned to his kennel just as easily as he exited and was very gentle when having his leash removed. A+ chill boy. Staff noted during playgroup 6/18: Aca indicated he was very easy to handle, friendly and social with him Medical: ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered a confirmation of an actual rescue pull.
