My story

Highlight: Bonnie may require another confident dog in the home to help her build trust and feel secure.Meet Bonnie – A Quiet Beauty Ready to BloomBonnie is a lovely 9-year-old Australian Shepherd who weighs 45 pounds and carries a gentle, reserved spirit. She’s a shy girl who takes her time warming up to new people and experiences, but with patience and kindness, her soft sweetness begins to shine through.Bonnie has likely had limited exposure to life as a family pet, so the world can feel like a big, unfamiliar place. That’s why she may benefit from having another confident dog in the home—someone to show her that people can be kind, and that good things come with trust. A doggy companion could be the key to helping Bonnie fully come out of her shell. She’s quiet, observant, and polite, never pushy but always soaking in her surroundings. Bonnie enjoys the presence of other dogs and finds comfort in having a furry friend nearby. She`s still learning the ropes, but she’s making progress at her own pace, and every small milestone is something to celebrate.Bonnie is looking for a calm, patient home that can offer her the time and space she needs to gain confidence. With gentle encouragement and the support of a kind human (and hopefully a doggy sibling), she’ll continue to blossom into a loving, loyal companion.*Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bonnie Rae, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
