My story

How this pet arrived: Luca was brought in by a community member. At SDHS:Luca has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home! Why Luca might be the one for you: Luca, with his mesmerizing eyes and alert black trimmed ears is one handsome dog. Luca has that look that says Ok to pet me but don't mess with my humans. He is very possessive of his humans. He wants to go everywhere with them and takes it personally that he is their loyal protector. He is a morning dog and expects his humans to be morning people. Think early riser but couch potato later on. He does not want to be left behind or alone. He is OK with kids and other dogs but cats, no way. He enjoys a yard and prefers doing his business there rather than on walks. With his heavy fur coat and our warm climate, frequent brushing and baths are necessary. Thankfully, he understands and tolerates them. His foster says he is very smart. It took him minutes to find the kibble container, take the lid off and help himself. If he does not like the placement of his bowls, he moves them. He loves to run and would be a great running companion.
