*** Pepper & Zacchaeus are in a foster home. ***Pepper #19691: solid black, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 4/4/25Zacchaeus #19728: white/brown tabby, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 3/27/25Cats: **BONDED PAIR**Dogs: likely good with intro Children: past toddler age BACKGROUND: Pepper was only a few days old with his umbilical cord still attached when he was brought to a shelter. Without the resources to care for such a young bottle baby, the shelter was going to euthanize him, but The Rescue House was able to get him to a bottle-feeding foster. Zacchaeus was a little older but still needed bottle feeding when he arrived at a different shelter in similar circumstances. The two were brought together in foster care. PERSONALITY: Pepper and Zac are cuddly lap cats who come running to greet you and once you’ve sat down they treat you like furniture. They’ll start a wrestle session on your lap! Springs, mice, and balls they can bat and carry around rank among their favorite toys, though of course they go wild for a wand toy.---Pepper has super-soft and luxurious fur to go with his loud harmonious purr. He is more reserved and needs a little adjustment time, looking to Zac to take the lead when it comes to new experiences and changes in scenery.---Zacchaeus is confident and ready to explore!---Pepper and Zacchaeus follow each other around and MUST be adopted together. COMPATIBILITY: Pepper and Zac are young and could likely learn to live with other cats, cat-friendly dogs, and respectful children who are past the erratic movements of toddlerhood. They are at the “teething” stage of kittenhood when everything is explored by enthusiastically chewing on it, including people, and will benefit from consistent guidance that toys are for wrestling/chewing and hands are for petting.Will Pepper and Zac bring their best friend energy to your home?
