My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:2Doogie is a silly, affectionate young pup who loves to play and thrives with structure. He’s smart, sensitive, and oh-so-snuggly once he knows you. This 1-year-old, 56-pound sweetheart is social with other dogs and enjoys chase-style play with well-matched pals. He loves cuddles, leans in for pets, and is full of wiggly joy when he’s with his people. Doogie already knows “sit” and “down,” takes treats gently, and enjoys a good game of fetch. He can be jumpy when bored or unsure, so he’ll do best with a confident, experienced adopter who can keep him active and supported. He shines when engaged and would love a home where he gets consistent structure, fun outings, and lots of sniffing time. On a recent field trip, Doogie rode calmly in the car, explored the world with curiosity, and showed polite interest in other dogs and small animals. He’s still learning leash manners and how to greet new people, but he’s responsive to gentle redirection and eager to please. Ready to add a fun, lovable goofball to your life?
