My story

RETURNED FROM FOSTER TO ADOPTHero and intact male resident dog would bark and growl at each other. Personal dog is scheduled for neuter, but they have not had positive experiences introducing Hero and Lynard. Both are reactive towards each other. There was also a fixed male dog at the dog park who barked at Hero, and so Hero approached the fence to growl and barked back. Did great with a neighbor`s adult female dog and a 4-month-old male puppy.Marking in the home (had no previous mentions of marking from previous fosters, and does not mark at IF)Crate training: He has been left 3-4 hours in the crate. He initially barks for a couple of minutes but then settles down. Calming music is played, and the crate is covered.Interaction with a personal intact male dog:The growling and barking happened through a playpen gate, and they would both get close to the gate. After a couple of days, my dog wasn`t showing any interest when Hero would walk by the gate, so my friend and I tried to reintroduce them slowly again at the dog park. And Hero got in Lynard`s face, and they immediately brawled. They were both on leash and we instantly separated them. Hero was trying to go back for another round.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hero, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
