My story

Meet the loyal and smart Scout the Shepherd. He is a 3-year old 90lb German Shepherd, with a can-do attitude, beautiful coloration, and an eagerness to learn and play. Scoutwas one of my mother's fur babies, and she passed unexpectedly this year, leaving my partner and I scrambling to find a home for him and his dog-brother Bowie. We are unfortunately unable to foster them indefinitely due to our own existing pet situation, and we need to find them a good home as soon as possible. Scout is a sweet and loving, high energy pup who likes to run and play and thinks he's a lap dog. He gets along great with other dogs, but has not had a lot of experience with cats yet. He lives with us and his dog brother Bowie currently. We have an inside cat that Scout has nosed up to the window with before, but no direct interaction. Scout is great with kids, he lived with my Niece his whole life, and is very gentle and loving with her. Scout and Bowie are inseparable and love to play and rough house in the back yard, and usually sleep side by side. Scout likes to think he's still a 10lb puppy and will curl up in your lap if you let him. He also does this adorable thing where he runs up and just flops over like a cat at your feet to get belly rubs. An ideal home for Scout would be one where he could stay with his brother Bowie, but he definitely needs someone with the time to and energy to keep up with his intelligence and energy. He suffers from mild separation anxiety, but that mostly results in whining. We have not witnessed any destructive behaviors (digging, clawing, chewing) since he has been with us. Scout is house trained, pulls a little at the leash but we are working on that and he gets better every time. Crate training is also in progress as a necessary step of his recent neuter recovery. We also intend to send him and his brother Bowie to training school in a week or so once he recovers from surgery to help make them better and more responsive companions. Like most German Shepherds, Scout is fiercely intelligent and curious, but also loyal and playful, and needs a home where he can be stimulated and engaged. This loving and curious pupy is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you?
