My story

Meet Tyke, a bright and quirky Shih Tzu mix who we rescued from the euthanasia list at NYC ACC due to a lack of space. Now safe and waiting for his second chance, Tyke is looking for a patient, experienced forever home. This clever little guy knows an impressive list of commands—sit, stay, paw, spin, speak, and more. He loves long walks, car rides, snacking on cooked veggies, and playing a good game of fetch. Talk to him, and he'll tilt his head like he's truly listening. Tyke's as smart as he is charming. Tyke bonds deeply with his people and does best in a calm, adult-only home. Tyke is not suited for a home with children. He's dog-friendly with slow introductions, crate-trained, and housetrained, too. Due to some touch sensitivity and guarding behavior, Tyke needs a dog-savvy adopter who will respect his boundaries and continue building his trust. If you're looking for a smart, sensitive, one-of-a-kind pup, Tyke might be your perfect match.  All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption.
