My story

Pebbles is a bouncy, energetic pup who is full of love an a zest for life! She’s sweet as can be and always up for a bit of fun once she’s feeling safe and settled. Pebbles can be nervous in new situations and with new people, so she’s looking for a quiet, patient home, ideally with dog-savvy older children or adults only. She’ll need a family who’s willing to take things slow and let her come out of her shell at her own pace. Once Pebbles feels comfortable, her playful and lively personality truly shines. If you`re ready to go at her speed and let her blossom in her own time, Pebbles is ready to bounce her way into your heart!IN-SHELTER NOTES & IDEAL HOMESIZE:50 lbs and still growingHOME TYPE:House or Townhouse. Pebbles can be vocal and nervous. She would do best in a home without shared walls or entryways. CHILDREN:Yes- Older children who have previously lived with a large dog potentially compatible. She can be nervous and shy with new people and she is a large, high-energy dog that can be mouthy and jumpy once comfortable. CATS & SMALL ANIMALS:No- Pebbles has displayed prey drive while here.OTHER DOGS:Yes- Dogs potentially compatible.ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:First time dog owner possible. Her new family ideally should have previous hound breed experience or have done hound breed research prior to adoption. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:At least three in-person training sessions to work on socialization, basic training, manners, touch/sound/movement sensitivities and reactivity. HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:Very human social. She is so sweet and friendly once comfortable!FAVOURITE THINGS:Loves playing with toys!**For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour fact sheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.If you are viewing this through 24PetConnect by PetPlace or Adopt-A-Pet, please visit our website https://kwsphumane.ca/adopt/process to submit an application.
