My story

How this pet arrived: Raccoon was brought in by a community member on 6/4/2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Raccoon is a shy and sensitive doggie who's still learning to trust the world around him. He's experienced some handling sensitivity and barrier frustration, but with time, patience, and consistency, he's beginning to build positive relationships with our staff. Raccoon will thrive in a calm, low-traffic home with no children under 10 and guardians who understand the importance of going slow, offering consent-based interactions, and helping him feel safe at his own pace. Raccoon is coming out of his shell little by little here in the shelter he is warming up to staff. He has also been very playful with his toys, tossing them up in the air and rolling around in the grass. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered.
