My story

Meet Kitty Baby! This sweet, long-haired boy is a certified couch potato who loves nothing more than curling up next to his favorite people for a cozy nap or a long movie night. Described by his previous family as friendly, affectionate, and an all-around sweetheart, Kitty Baby may be a little shy at first with new people. He’s a true cuddle bug who enjoys attention and will happily snuggle up for pets and brushing sessions to keep his beautiful coat looking its best. Kitty Baby has lived with other cats before, but a slow introduction to any resident pets will help set everyone up for success. He would prefer a home with older kids since younger kids tended to make him nervous. And when he’s feeling playful, string toys are his absolute favorite! You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
