My story

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will adore you endlessly and maybe serenade you with her beautiful “singing” voice now and then, Ladybird might just be your perfect match.Ladybird is a total gem – affectionate, intelligent, and eager to please. In her short-term foster home, she’s proven to be extremely well potty-trained (not a single accident!), and she’s already mastered `Sit` like a pro. She’s working on “Stay” and “Touch” and picking things up quickly – she’s very trainable and responds best to gentle guidance. Ladybird is a sensitive soul who just wants to get it right. This little lovebug enjoys exploring the house, checking in on her people, and—given the opportunity—sneaking in a quick cuddle or a surprise face lick. She gets along well with other dogs, but since she lives for human attention, she might do best with a more mellow canine companion or as your one-and-only. Ladybird could also thrive in a family with kids, especially older kids who’d enjoy her affectionate, cuddly nature. Her foster’s 12-year-old daughter carries her around like a baby, and Ladybird is more than happy to be pampered and snuggled like a lap princess. At the shelter, Ladybird is known as a master manipulator – in the best way. She will dramatically flop over for belly rubs (and yes, we all fall for it). She`s sweet, silly, and absolutely adorable. She’s still working on her reactivity to other dogs and cats, but she listens well to redirection and does settle with time and patience. With a bit of structure and someone willing to work with her, she’ll continue to blossom.Ladybird would be happiest with someone who’s around often – she’s the kind of dog who loves to be by your side through thick and thin. Whether you`re lounging on the couch or heading out for an adventure, she’s ready to be your constant companion.Ladybird isn’t just a pet – she’s a partner. A cuddler. A comic. A comfort after a long day.If you’re ready to share your life (and your lap) with a devoted friend, Ladybird is waiting to steal your heart – and maybe your spot on the couch.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ladybird, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
