My story

Animal Profile:  Kel is an estimated 8 week old male, Chihuaha mixed puppy joining us from Texas on Monday, 6/09. Kel and his siblings have been in a Texas foster home after being found with their mom, Letty. Unfortunately a couple of their siblings were killed by other strays. Kel and his siblings were bottle fed for 3 days while their mom recovered. They are now all healthy and happy waiting for their ride to the PNW. Foster Update: Kel is a superstar puppy! He is already great on a leash and likes to walk on the treadmill as well. He is working on potty training and is doing really well.  He is also working on crate training and would prefer not, thank you. He is curious, fearless, and unphased by the huge resident dog (compared to him) or the cats. He loves a good snuggle (with a kid, would be great)  and prefers sleeping right next to you or in your arms. Kel is also majoring in vocals and has a great howl. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.
