My story

Animal Profile:  Katie is an estimated 10 week old female, Miniature Pinscher mixed puppy joining us from Texas on Monday, 6/09. Katie and her siblings have been in a Texas foster home since 4/29 after being found in a box by a local business owner.  Foster Update:  “Katie (sardine) is such a fun puppy. She is confident. smart, playful, food motivated. She’s pretty good about chewing on just her toys but occasionally gets an itching for some furniture, even then she is easily redirected to something more appropriate. We are working on puppy things like leashes (her stubborn streak shows here), potty training and basic commands. Potty training and crate training are going pretty well. With regular outings she isn’t having accidents, she does need one break overnight but is sleeping longer each day. Currently her favorite thing is to be by my side or in my lap. She does let her protests known when she feels you’ve gotten far so housing where she won’t bother the neighbors is important. Sardine does seem to bond quickly to one person so in a family everyone will need to be committed and involved. She can be wary of passing cars and strangers (although she warms up quickly) so continued socialization will be really important. She is currently living with a resident dog and responds well to his corrections. She could do well with or without another dog in the home. This girl is so fun and will thrive in a home committed to exercising her physically and mentally!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued in partnership with Paws Up Rescue in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care via Byrdie Express on 6/09. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.June 12, 2025, 10:21 pm
