My story

Name: Blackie and Silver Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Domestic Long Hair Sex: Neutered Males Age: 3 years Weight: 14 lbs / 15 lbs Bonded Pair Good with dogs? Both are afraid of the large dog in their foster home but may be OK with a smaller dog who gives the space. Good with cats? Yes, they are friendly with other cats and understand boundaries well. They used to live in a cat colony. Good with kids? Not Tested, but they may do well with respectful kids 10+ who understand how to interact with cats. Energy level: Medium. They will play and wrestle each other and enjoy feather toys. These chill, lazy boys like to watch out the window and cuddle. Medical needs: Blackie is fully recovered from surgery to save his leg after hip dislocation and is loving his new, pain-free life. He has a chipped tooth and will need a dental cleaning in the future. Silver has a grade II-III heart murmur that has not caused any issues so far. Silver is FIV+. FIV is a feline-only retrovirus that affects a cat’s immune system. He is currently asymptomatic and in good health. An adopter should be aware that FIV can make a cat more vulnerable to other medical issues because their immune system is not as strong as an FIV negative cat. FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs and can only be transferred to other cats through a deep cat bite. Animal Characteristics: Blackie and Silver are sweet, silly bonded brothers who love each other very much. They are shy around new people and loud noises, but warm up and become loyal to their trusted people. Blackie is more reserved but becoming happier by the day, since his body feels comfortable and he can enjoy attention from humans. He will let you know when he is nervous, and his devoted brother will comfort him with his deep and admirable love. Silver is more outgoing and adores people. He will play nibble and hold your arm with his paws. Both kitties are gentle, and while they may need a little time to adjust, they are well worth the short wait! Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Blackie & Silver, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
