My story

Here are a few adjectives that Red Dot’s friends use to describe him: Gentle, Graceful and Easy-going! Red Dot was picked up and brought to the shelter after a neighbor found him tied outside. At the shelter he can appear shy, but he’s really loving and enjoys his time outside with volunteers. He walks well on a leash, checking in with his handler and gently taking treats. Red Dot has been noted as food motivated, which is great for training! Red Dot must be a smart cookie because he has already shown off some commands like ‘sit’ and ‘paw’. Red Dot has had good dog meets in the shelter, but please bring any potential fur siblings to meet him at ACCT. BEHAVIOR: Per Volunteer 6/16/25: Red Dot is timid and calm. He's easy to get in/out of the kennel and walked pretty well on a leash once we were in the grassy area. He spent most of the time in the play yard sniffing around. He did snuggle into me a couple of times and allowed all handling/touching/pets. Also, Red Dot takes treats like nothing I've ever seen before. The most gentle ever!!!! Shared a video for proof. Per staff 6/16/25: He came to the front of the kennel with ears to the side, soft eyes, closed mouth, loose body with tail low, not wagging. He was easy to leash and walked on a loose leash outside. He had neutral body language, while sniffing around, and took treats very gently. When handling his body he had low tail, not wagging, and otherwise neutral and soft features, and did not solicit more attention. Not interested in playing, and was shy and tentative to approach a plush toy on the ground. He leaned forward to sniff it while keeping his back feet far away so he could jump back if needed. He was easy to return to kennel and remove the leash Per volunteer 6/15/25: this wrinkly face boy stole my heart today. He was resting comfortably in his kennel when I approached him and he walked over slowly to greet me. He was a little nervous at first, taking some treats gently before I gained his trust to allow me to leash him. Once on the leash, he walked very gracefully. Outdoors, he was a great loose leash walker and even showed off the tricks he knows, such as sit & paw. He took treats so gently and was such an easygoing guy. He allowed pets all over and I truly enjoyed my time with him. Per Staff 6/13/25: Very food motivated VIDEO: Red Dot is gentle with treats: https://youtube.com/shorts/qC4JNj4EiEA?feature=share Red Dot enjoys a stroll 6/15: https://youtube.com/shorts/JyXkklfBdFs?si=Os5NyLFZ7n4XcW5K Red Dot Loves Pepperoni 6/15: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qc8F1W2WBV4?si=_K74z-EQv-BAm_Do Playgroup 6/14: Cocoa, Luffy, Sage, Kyler, Red Dot (2) https://youtu.be/rkeDi5cJjX0 Playgroup 6/14: Cocoa, Luffy, Sage, Kyler, Red Dot, Tyson https://youtu.be/aJTG-FJMsp4 Playgroup 6/14: Cocoa, Luffy, Sage, Kyler, Red Dot, Rocker https://youtu.be/lS5KDQTg0V0 Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog or cat. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly’s Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Red Dot , please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
