My story

Meet Thornton!  This charming, mature boy has been waiting patiently for his forever home since before October of 2022! He was transferred to us from another shelter, so we are not sure how long he was waiting there as well. We are unsure as to why he has been so overlooked for so long! He is truly so full of life and love for the world!  Thornton is friendly and eager to be friends with just about everyone he meets! He leans his full body weight into his people for all the scratches he can possibly soak up. With his big smile and wiggly body, it's impossible to be unhappy when you're hanging out with this guy.  It's no secret to us that Thornton is missing one of his front legs, but he doesn't seem to notice. Thornton's amputation was very recent, so he is still adjusting a bit to missing his leg. This huge change in his life hasn't slowed him down at all, though! He still greets staff with a big, happy smile and hops around in happy circles, waiting for you to cuddle him.  Thornton is a great, moderate energy level and should fit most lifestyles. He loves to play fetch, but he is more than happy to have a lazy day (or two) just relaxing indoors and watching some TV! He needs a home that will keep him at a healthy weight while also making sure he doesn't overuse his front leg, potentially causing some joint issues down the line. He even does well with other dogs, but it is highly recommended that he isn't around high-energy dogs that may knock him around.  If you would like to give this sweet boy a chance at a normal life, call the Ranch to come meet him today!   Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing environment. Their routines include daily playgroups or partnering with dog buddies, quality time walking or being groomed, and two meals a day with dog biscuits for dessert.     All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.  The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies )  APPLY NOW       June 24, 2025, 7:50 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Thornton, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
