My story

My foster writes: Dior is a snuggle buddy made for your couch. There is nothing more that she loves after a long day of sleeping then getting on the couch with you to chill out and watch tv. She enjoys her walkies and needs some playtime to get her energy out, but then she is the goodest girl nesting into pillows. Dior has been non reactive to dogs, friendly with strangers, and an easy going companion.Dior is an intelligent and energetic pup enrolled in our Shelter Scholars program, where she's working on managing hyper-arousal and kennel stress to feel more relaxed and secure. Through structured enrichment, confidence-building exercises, and stress-reducing activities, Dior is learning how to self-regulate, settle, and navigate her environment with greater ease. Using positive reinforcement training, she's making great strides in practicing calm behavior, building focus, and finding healthy outlets for her energy.A volunteer writes: When I met Dior, I thought she wouldn't be around very long. Now 75 days later, she is still waiting. Dior is just a gentle soul. You can tell by the look in her eyes that she is just so sweet, and was born to love someone. She is a deep chocolate brown, with big ears and kind eyes. I am jealous of the volunteers Dior loves best, because she snuggles them with the most gusto. Dior is 3 years old and spayed, ready to go home today. She loves to play and loves toys,When greeting a male dog at the shelter, she initially was bouncy and play bowed, but when the other dog became more pushy and continued to move into her space, Dior became uncomfortable. My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Dior was literally an angel. She did pull on the leash some while walking, but listens and redirects well. She was so excited to go to a pet store and even picked out her own toy. In the car, she was very well mannered and loved sticking her head out of the window. Dior is a very curious and loving dog. She enjoyed playing with her new toy and practicing commands (sit & paw) for treats. More than anything, Dior wants to cuddle. Though she's not exactly lapdog size, she's a lapdog in spirit. Her little nap time snores are adorable. When we ate lunch, Dior was very polite. She gives sweet kisses and takes treats very gently. She enjoys looking out the window and taking in all the sounds of the world with those big ears of hers. In our time together, she didn't bark a single time. She's a perfect girl and deserves all the love in the world. My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Dior did so great on our walk today. She didn't react too much to other dogs. She has a great stride and most of the time I had to keep up with her. She is very curious so she likes to be thorough on her walks but is very patient and quite loving to her handler. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 70 Age: 3yrs 9mths 2wks
