My story

Put Short Bio here:  Leo aka Howie is one of those dogs people say has the perfect name. He is a sweet, social gentleman who always flops over for a belly rub when he meets you. He likes to play with other dogs and will sometimes enjoy a chase from anyone, dog or human. True to his breed, his superpower is his nose and outside he loves to investigate every scent that comes his way. Unlike most beagles, he's not a barker, though it's a delight when his howl comes out outside from time to time. He loves to snuggle but can also be independent inside.  Fill out all below:Personality & Characteristics: Howie is very docile, sweet, and social. He does great with newcomers and loves to make friends, humans and dogs alike. Outside, the nose goes, and he's on the hunt, but is still very obedient and responsive to treats and commands. He can occasionally have some separation anxiety if he hasn't had a lot of social time. Maybe it's the big eyes and ears, but he can also come off as a little aloof inside, in a pretty charming way.My foster dog is good with: (Dogs, Kids, Cats) He's done great with dogs and kids. He's had some indoor exposure to cats, but it's been very supervised and slow. I think he'd get along well with a cat, but it may take some slower introduction. My foster dog is: (Crate trained, House trained, Low shed) He is house trained. I did minimal crate training with him, which I stopped only because it didn't seem necessary. He sheds quite a bit!3 Keywords for your pup: Sweet, charmer, curiousEnergy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 7Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: QuietWalking Manners: Eager to smell everything, occasionally reactive to other dogsAppetite: UnceasingFavorite Things: Treats, roaming free outside, long belly rubsCommands/Tricks: Sit, down, roll over, up, shake, go to your spot, spin, leave it, stay.  ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea ##1819555##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Leo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
