My story

Ashton is a sweet little poodle who has had a tough start. For about three months, he lived outside next to an apartment, where he was dirty and neglected. His food was just kibble thrown on the ground, and his coat was matted and even had some tar stuck in it. A hospice nurse found Ashton while helping a patient, whose daughter had been keeping him locked up outside. After meeting Ashton in a Walmart parking lot, she brought him in to Shelter Hope. We gave him several baths, and lots of care and love. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is now ready for a new home. Ashton is a little shy at first, but every day he is growing more and more confident! He is friendly and gentle, and he’s looking for a family who can give him the care and attention he deserves. Be ready to adopt. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please fill out our online application and our adoption counselor will reach out to you to discuss meeting your new family member. Please be aware if we have already approved another party for the dog you are interested in, you may not get a call from us.
