My story

Libra is such a good, happy boy with the most contagious smile! He gets along well with dogs and cats, and is playing nicely with my dog who is half his size and usually scared of larger dogs. He is STRONG and tends to pull on the leash, but he is definitely improving on leash-training. We're working on it, and he wants to please his people!  Libra is housebroken and crate-trained too, and with a chew toy or peanut-butter-filled Kong, is content in his crate for a long time, and quiet overnight. Actually he doesn't bark much at all, at least compared to my resident dogs. This boy knows "sit" and is learning "down" or "off," and is smart and willing to learn, and learns fast!    Several months ago, we pulled Libra from a shelter where he was a staff favorite, but being a pitty, he wound up on their euthanasia list (please spay and neuter your animals, folks - we have a massive overpopulation problem!) so SAAP came to the rescue. But while at the shelter, Libra  got along great with a volunteer's girls,  enjoyed being dressed up, and rode beautifully in the car!  While he is great with kids and LOVES them, he can play a little rough, so kids who know how to play with dogs would be a best fit for him. He was wonderful in his foster home, but was recently returned because he didn't get along well with one of the dogs in the household (whether it was Libra or the other dog, I don't really know, but Libra seems to get along great with pretty much all dogs according to his foster family.) Libra is wonderful at dog parks and can be trusted to make good choices in his interactions with other dogs.   He just wants to be snuggled and loved on, and he'll give you all the kisses you could ever want!   June 15, 2025, 3:57 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Libra, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
