My story

Just what can we say about a black cat named Apricot? The delightful fruit that gives this sweetheart her name is sweet with a tart or tangy finish, and that description couldn’t be more apt.Soft and velvety, like the blushing little stone fruit, Apricot is tender and more than a little shy. Once homed indoors, this precious girl spent a significant amount of time living outside accompanied by her sister Clementine. Although we don’t know the entire story, these girls somehow managed to survive on their own until they were humanely rescued and brought to Tabby’s Place. The more “people friendly” of the two, Clementine has already been adopted. A little more reticent to give up her wild ways and put her trust in humans once again, Apricot is a bit more retiring. Still, when you quietly and gently make her the center of attention, Apricot responds with deeply affectionate purrs. She mightily longs for someone she can trust to provide a loving home again.Apricot’s time in the great outdoors did have its consequences. Due to years of untreated injuries and infections, the cartilage of Apricot’s ears was permanently damaged, giving them their unusual appearance. In fact, she looks quite like a Scottish Fold – a very distinctive breed in the cat community with folded over ears. We’ve never seen a fully black Scottish Fold, which makes Apricot’s appearance even more beautifully unique. Can you offer this shy, sweet beauty a quiet home where she can be the central star of your love-filled universe? Please fill out an online adoption form today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Apricot, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
