My story

Meet Squishy – the Shy Guy with a Huge Heart Squishy is a 3-year-old sweetheart who’s come a long way from the scared stray he once was. Picked up off the streets and labeled “fearful,” Squishy was minutes away from being euthanized when his second chance arrived. And he’s been making the most of it ever since. His breed makeup is a total guess! But he won't get any bigger and weighs about 30 pounds now. He’s still shy at first, but with patience (and treats!), Squishy blossoms. Once you’ve earned his trust, he’ll be your loyal shadow. He’s discovered the joy of playing—with toys, with people, and most of all, with other dogs. In fact, he thrives in a home with canine companions who help him feel safe and confident. The more, the merrier! Squishy’s a thoughtful eater, savoring each piece of kibble like a gourmet meal. He’s potty trained, crate trained (he loves his cozy crate breaks), and walks well on a leash, though new routes should be taken slow—he’s still building up his courage. Recently, Squishy found his voice, and he’s proud of it! Whether you’re gone five minutes or five hours, he’ll greet you like a rockstar. He’s smart, eager to learn, and steadily building the confidence he never had. He’s neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and has a clean bill of health. While we’re not sure how he feels about cats, his calm nature suggests he’d be fine with them. Squishy needs a home with a securely fenced yard and people who understand that sometimes bravery takes time. But once he’s in, he’s all in. If you're looking for a quiet hero who's learning how to be a dog—and a great one at that—Squishy might just be your perfect match.
