Belle

My story

This is Belle, a sweet 6 year old pit mix. While she was picked up as a stray, a former owner from a year ago was able to provide some info. At that time, she was fully house trained, lived with other dogs and children young and older. She knew Sit, Come and Shake. She even knew how to use the dog talk buttons! How much of this she has retained in the last year is unknown, but it shows how smart and trainable she has been before!Belle is selective in dog play groups. Like all our adult dogs, Belle will need to meet future canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. At the main campus, you can bring your dog along when you come for adoptions if you like. Belle was able to go on a Dog Day Out recently and here is what they had to say, `I had the pleasure of taking sweet Belle on a hike this past weekend, and she was absolutely wonderful. She walked beautifully on the leash without pulling and truly enjoyed being outdoors, soaking in every minute of our time on the trail. When we got out of the woods, she trotted happily toward the shade where we took a water break and she cooled off. She still had some energy left, so we played a quick game of fetch, which she loved.Afterward, Belle enjoyed a relaxing car ride with the AC blowing on her face as we headed off for a well-deserved treat: a pup cup and cheeseburger. We stopped at a nearby park where she could enjoy her snacks and unwind a bit before returning to the shelter. Belle is incredibly smart. She already knows how to sit and shake with both paws. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s happy to relax by your side after a long day but also has the energy to help you get your steps in, Belle is your girl.`Belle is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home!Her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
