My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog C:1Meet Culottes, a tender-hearted boy in need of a soft landing. This handsome 4-year-old, 71-pound pittie mix is going through a tough time. He arrived at the shelter shut down, covered in filth, and too worried to even take treats. Though clearly under the weather, Culottes shows glimmers of sweetness, lifting his head when spoken to softly and trailing gently alongside his handler on short walks. He moves through the world with slow, tentative steps and a heart full of uncertainty, but under it all is a gentle soul waiting to feel safe again. In shelter playgroups, Culottes has shown polite manners with other dogs and may do well with a calm companion or as a solo pet in a quiet home. Culottes will need a patient, understanding adopter who can give him time to decompress, recover, and rediscover joy.
