My story

Meet Streets ACCT-A-222462! Streets is a 4-year-old male who came in as an owner surrender on 6/8 due to the owner moving. Behavior Notes: Per staff 6/15: “Was unable to get PCR due to behavior. Pt did not want to exit the kennel with a slip leash or a snappy snare. When the snappy snare was introduced, he began to bare teeth and retreat by all means necessary.” Per staff 6/13: “Pt did not want to come out of kennel with Nurse. A different nurse tried to approach to take PCR in kennel, but pt was barring teeth, tense, growling, and backing away. A staff member was called to help obtain PCR after pt calmed down a little. Pt was a little hesitant to get leashed but was wagging his tail. Once out of the kennel he was energetic, wagging his tail and approaching Becca & Kit. He seemed to be more comfortable with that staff member. Allowed nurse to pet on back and take PCR (2 mouth swabs) just fine with minimal restraint. Once pt was put back in kennel he was offered treats and he ate them.” Per owner 6/11: “Owner stated she was testing and provoking streets to see how he would react if children would take his toys. She stated she kept trying to take his new favorite toy to get a reaction. She stated after he ran away with the toy and she went to attempt to take it again, he finally snapped and nipped her.” Per owner: “Friendly and is well with kids. Is crate trained, medium energy, may like cats. Streets bit because i took his toy when he was plying with it.” Medical Notes: On 6/13: Streets was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. Per an intake exam on 6/8: -Ears are waxy -matting around face, dirty, hair loss lower back and legs ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered a confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open-intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly's Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Streets, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
