My story

Calling all Bloodhound lovers! You just have to meet Tatum, a very sweet, gentle, and quiet girl. She is about 4 years old and weighs around 80 pounds. She is a bloodhound that found herself at a shelter due to no fault of her own. She is nervous when outside, so will need someone with patience as they help her overcome this nervousness. With lots of patience, encouragement and support, Tatum will blossom in a home surrounded by love. She is in the process of learning her house, crate, and leash skills. She is comfortable with other dogs and the kids. It is not known if she has met a cat.Fans of bloodhounds adore their gentleness and iconic appearance. They do have the most powerful sense of smell of all dog breeds, hence their use as trackers. Inside the house they display a gentle and laid-back temperament. A more devoted and loving companion would be hard to find, as long as one does not mind a bit of drool from time to time! They are known for their intelligence and have plenty of energy to burn when outside. They are not the type of dog that likes to be left alone most of the day. They would benefit from mental and physical activities and toys that prevent boredom. Daily walks will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. Tatum will make a wonderful family companion. Are you willing to take on the task of helping her transition to a new life where she is loved and appreciated? If yes, read on.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Tatum is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.June 12, 2025, 6:29 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tatum, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
