My story

Bernie is an 11 years old black mini poodle, he was previously adopted from Tiny paws in 2020. Bernie was a retired breeder. He weighs approximately 14 lbs. He is neutered and chipped, but will need vetting. He is leash trained and house broken. Bernie gets along with other dogs, except for Labs. He enjoys cuddling and lounging on the couch. He has not been around cats, but the owner doesn't think he would have an issue with them. Bernie does like to mark his territory so he does wear belly bands. Reason for surrendering is that now the couple have an 18 month old child. The child doesn't understand how to be gentle with Bernie so they have gotten scratched and nipped. The owners feel like Bernie should be in a nice quiet home with adults only or with teens over 15 y/o. Bernie does require either a leash or a fence when outside. He doesn't walk on a leash very far, maybe a mile and then he's tired, but he enjoys the outdoors. Bernie is located in Milwaukee, WI. If you are interested in fostering or adopting, feel free to reach out to me. becky.daniels512@gmail.com (571)641-7830 Adoption fee of $450 required.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bernie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
