Viper is 8 lbs and 7 years old. He is located in the East SF Bay Area. Viper is a happy little guy with a big, silly personality! He has not met a person or dog he doesn’t like. He’s even good with the cat! He is excellent on walks and car rides. He is always hungry and will smile and dance for treats. He also knows how to “sit” when prompted. He recently went to the groomer who said he was very well behaved, and this was definitely not his first time at the groomers! He will need some patience with house training, because he is a “marker” but he is not opposed to wearing belly bands, which have been so helpful! He was recently neutered so we’re hoping it helps with curbing that behavior. He was no problem wearing belly bands and doesn’t try to take them off. He can be anxious in new environments and will need a little time to decompress in a new home. Fortunately his anxiety just comes out as him being squirmy and wanting to be close to his person and get lots of love. He has calmed down quite a bit in his foster home (he’s only been there two weeks) and he seems very content. He will do the same in his new home. He has a collapsed trachea (common in small breeds) which can make him cough, and pant at times. This also means it’s important for his family to use a harness rather than a collar for walks and outings. Viper would fit in with an active family or a single person who wants a lap dog. He’d be happy to have a friendly dog or cat sibling, or be a single pup. As long as he can be the center of someone’s attention and love, he will be thrilled to be yours. Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet. Adoptions to veterans of the US Armed Services are ALWAYS free to thank you for your service. We thank Well Pet Vet Clinic for providing most of our veterinary services and give a special thanks to volunteer photographers Tanya, Barbara, Kristy, Christine, Teressa and Natalie.
