King is a calm, friendly senior who’s looking for a new home after tragically losing his longtime owner. At 9 years old, King is said to be affectionate, well-mannered, and loves to relax, watch movies, or enjoy a good snack. He knows several commands and walks well on leash. King is gentle and loving with people and he'd thrive in a calm, caring home where he can feel safe and cherished again. Let’s help this sweet, spoiled boy find the second chance he deserves. Come meet him at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6pm PREVIOUS SHELTER STAY NOTES AND VIDEOS 06/08/2025 Playgroup 6/8: Cocoa, Luffy, Solo, Gia, Diamond, King Flare [muzzled] https://youtu.be/XmZ7mSxJ3aA Playgroup 6/8: Luffy, Solo, Gia, Diamond, King Flare [muzzled] https://youtu.be/YpL4L9RAOrs Playgroup 6/8: Luffy, Solo, Gia, Diamond, King Flare [muzzled], Monty https://youtu.be/9Oru2djkDOI Playgroup 6/8: Luffy, Solo, Gia, King Flare, Monty https://youtu.be/g1QBsxT99Rw Playgroup 6/8: Luffy, Solo, Gia, King Flare, Freddy [muzzled] https://youtu.be/3ldSWyc7F08 06/08/2025 Volunteer notes: Kennel presentation: king Flare was sitting at his kennel with a loose body, soft eyes and a mid wagging tail. I opened the kennel door and he patiently waited for me to leash him, then hopped our of his kennel. Leash: minimal pulling Handling: King Flare walks well on leash with minimal pulling. He seems to be housebroken or trying to stay housebroken as he used the bathroom right away outside. In the adoption room King Flare remained loose and wiggly with me. He allowed all pets and was very tolerant. When I showed him treats he sat nicely and took the treat out of my hand nicely. We saw children walking out and he had mid tail wags and seemed to perk up seeing them. Going back to kennel he was a bit reactive towards another dog in a kennel barking at him. He raised his hackles and became tense and started to bark at him. He was able to be redirected and then hopped right into his kennel. Toys: no interest Play: no interest Color: experienced gold 06/08/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Barrier Reactive, hackles raised, muzzled initially, interested primarily in females, gave greeting to male dog but became stand offish. appears to be male dog selective, over corrected, initiated confrontation and had to be removed from yard
