My story

Heartworm positive---FOSTER ONLYKid friendly: UnknownDog friendly: YesCat friendly: KnownEnergy level: MediumLeash skills: Pretty good!Keeps a clean kennel: UnknownBrownie is a young male mixed breed dog. He was taken in by East Newton Animal Coalition in early January along with his friend Dippie after their owner ended up in jail, and we took him in as a transfer about a month later. We are just getting to know him, but so far, he's turning out to be a total sweetie! He doesn't know many commands, but that hasn't stopped him from being eager to learn them. He's got a super gentle mouth when he takes treats too. He's extremely happy to receive any and all attention, and he makes it clear just how much he enjoys getting his fill. He's the epitome of "doesn't know he's too big to be a lap dog" - a problem that's easily solved by joining him on the floor for some quality hugs and TLC. Most dogs prefer women, but Brownie reportedly strongly prefers men!He can enter a space a little hot, but once the initial burst of energy wears off along with the novelty, he's quiet, unobtrusive, and great at self-managing. With a little work and lots of cuddles, Brownie could easily be your new bestie!!! At just around a year old, Brownie is probably just about done growing. He's a reasonable 55 lbs - not too small and not too tall. The cherry on top of his handsome features, Brownie's got an adorable mini underbite and a cool split down his face with a lighter pattern on one side if you study him closely.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Brownie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
