My story

UPDATE!&#226&#156&#168 Chicken Nugget, Nugget for short, is a stray that was rescued off the street. From the first moment we met Nugget, he has been incredibly sweet and loving. He wants all the attention and pets always. We are still working on manners, so sometimes his love is excessive licking to the face and sitting on top of you. It is all out of love though! Nugget has been introduced to multiple strangers and does well with all people. He is timid at first, but he opens up quickly and shows affection. He has been introduced to a few children in controlled environments and those introductions went well and he was very gentle and loving. We feel Nugget would do well in a home with children, if they respect that he is timid at first.  Nugget does well with the female dog on his foster and they romp and play all day. Unfortunately, the male older dog in the home isn’t a fan but we are hoping this changes once sweet Nugget is neutered.  Nugget has shown no outward signs of aggression and is eager to learn. He is playful and interested in toy balls. He enjoys performing surgery on toys with squeakers, so these are better left outside of his reach. He enjoys Nyla bones and chewing toys.  Nugget will be a great addition to any home lucky enough to choose him! We believe Nugget is a Terrier/Lab mix. He is around 1 year old and 45 lbs. He will complete his vetting and be adoption ready 6/4/25! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you!
