My story

7/15/25 update from foster: "He’s a happy well behaved little guy. Fully house trained, crate trained, about 35-40 lbs. Gets along with everyone and everything." Hey, I'm Chico! I'm told I'm a sweet, friendly, and curious goofball. Once, I lived a normal life, but then... everything changed! I discovered I had superpowers! With my super-smarts, I solved puzzles no dog could. With my super-playfulness, I turned grumpy faces into giggles. With my big brother attitude, I help my younger foster siblings learn the ropes on how to play and how to be a puppy!!! Sadly, my powers couldn't prevent me from ending up here. Back in October of 2024 this lady (who is now my foster mom) was in a drive through getting food and met an unhoused person with a small puppy asking for food. She offered him food and to buy me some dog food and offered to get me medical care which she did! I saw her a lot over the months; she would bring me food and toys, and help my dad when he was sick. After a few months my beloved dad passed away, and she was called to come take care of me. But don't worry she’s taken such great care of me! I'm energetic, cuddly, and loyal. I'm ready to bring my super love to a new home. Will you be my superhero? Ideal home/family lifestyle: active lifestyle, kids older then 5+ years old he’s very energetic. Great with other dogs and would do best with another dog or two. Size potential: Estimated 35-40 pounds Leash trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Energy level: Med-high, loves to play with kids and dogs on foster home. Chico is currently being fostered in San Antonio, Texas, watching for the signal to fly up to Colorado to become a mountain boy! ##2422026##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chico, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
