Age/Birthdate:01/31/2024 * Location: Joliet,IL * Fully Vetted: Yes Any Special Medical or Special Needs:None Temperament with: Dogs:Good Cats: Children list specific ages: Good, as young as 8 Strangers:Good Training Needs: Crate Trained:Yes Potty Trained:Yes I’m a sweet, playful girl who’s always ready to make a new friend—especially if they have paws! I love meeting other dogs and would be happy with a dog sibling, but I’m also content being the center of your attention as an only pup. I’ve met kids 8 and up and think they’re awesome—especially when they’re ready to play or snuggle. I’m a friendly gal, though I can be just a tiny bit shy with men at first. Don’t worry though—give me a minute and I’ll be your best friend (and maybe even your shadow). I LOVE car rides, going for walks, and soaking up tummy rubs like they’re sunshine. I know how to sit and I’m working on giving my paw! I’m very treat-motivated, so training is going great. I walk well, though I do pull a little—I’m learning! When it’s mealtime, I use a slow feeder and wait patiently for my food. I used to gobble it down, but I’ve learned to take my time now. I don’t beg at the table or counter surf—I’ve got manners! I love toys (stuffies, balls, bones—you name it!), and I don’t chew on anything that’s not mine. I don’t have separation anxiety, but I’ll be over-the-moon excited when you return home. I’m the kind of dog who wants to be by your side, sharing life’s little moments—especially the cuddly ones. Oh, and I do a little butt wiggle dance when I’m waiting for my food... it’s pretty adorable if I do say so myself. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, playful companion with a heart full of affection and a smile that’ll melt your heart—I’m your girl. Whoever gets to call me family will be very lucky indeed. 💕 This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason. If the dog or puppy is not yet fully vetted, we can only consider applications from adopters within an hour's drive or 40 miles of Lemont, IL, due to required vet visits at our partner veterinarians. For fully vetted dogs or puppies, we welcome applications from out-of-state or beyond the 40-mile radius. Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval. Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners. The adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue) Microchip Rabies vaccine DHPP vaccine Bordetella vaccine 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease) General wellness care, including deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention Your adoption fee also helps support medical care for other rescue animals, including heartworm treatments, surgeries, and emergency care. Spay/Neuter Policy: We spay/neuter dogs at 16 weeks or older, at the discretion of the rescue and in consultation with our partner veterinarians. While some veterinarians recommend delaying the procedure based on a breeds projected size, as a rescue, our primary goal is to prevent unwanted litters. Spaying and neutering also provide significant health benefits, including cancer prevention and reducing behavioral issues. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay/neuter for cats and dogs as early as 16 weeks. We carefully assess each case to determine the best timing for the procedure. Interested in Adopting? Submit an adoption application at www.rubywhiskers.org/adopt
