My story

Meet Spot – A Resilient, Loving Pitbull Mix Looking for His Forever Home Spot is a young adult Pitbull mix with a heart as big as his energy level. Sweet, spirited, and full of life, Spot has been through more than most dogs his age. He was surrendered to a vet after surviving a traumatic incident in which he was severely injured. Thanks to excellent medical care and his own incredible resilience, Spot has made a full recovery — and he’s ready for a fresh start. Now, Spot spends his days running and playing in the hospital yard, always eager to meet new friends. He’s extremely affectionate with people and thrives on attention, cuddles, and adventure. Spot is happiest when he's active and loved. What Spot Needs: Spot would do best in a home with space to run and a person or family who can keep up with his playful nature. He does not do well with small dogs and will need a home without them. We’re unsure how he would do with large dogs, cats, or small children, so careful introductions and a thoughtful environment will be important. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations, negative for heartworm disease, and has no current health issues. Why Spot Needs a New Home: Spot was originally brought to us by Animal Control after being stabbed multiple times in an isolated incident. He had lunged at a small dog during a walk, and in the confusion, the other dog’s owner injured Spot in defense. While no one was found at fault, Spot’s previous owner was unable to afford his emergency care or keep him in their apartment after the event. They made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender him so he could heal and find a better-suited home. Now that he's healthy and thriving again, Spot is ready to meet the person or family who will love him unconditionally — just like he’ll love them. If you think you’re the right match for Spot, please reach out. He’s waiting for his second chance. Spot is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Spot, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
