My story

(DOB 04/22/2022) Whiskey is heartworm positive and our rescue will treat him, so during this time he will be available for adoption within 1 hour radius of Wake Forest, NC. And don't worry, his loving foster family and our rescue will guide you through the process. Whiskey absolutely loves walks (he is good on a leash) and car rides, and he's happiest when he's close to his people. Loyal and affectionate, Whiskey is always ready to rest his head in your lap or lay next to you on the sofa and soak up your love. He has the best wrinkly-eye brow raise that makes him utterly adorable when he looks up at you with those big, brown hound-y eyes! A young, somewhat active family (he certanily doesn't need any marathon runners!!) with or without kids is right up Whiskey's all. He could easily be an only dog. He is a big guy but pretty laid back in nature. He gets along well with calm, easygoing dogs and seems to do just fine with most cats, too. With his sweet nature and desire to please, Whiskey will make a wonderful, devoted companion. Whiskey is already house trained and crate trained so no problems there. He is not a fan of sharing his food and treats with his other furry family members, so if you have another dog in the home, just feed them seperately. He is kind of what's mine is mine kind of a thing when he comes his yummy-yummies. He will probably need a fenced yard because for now, he doens't want to potty on leash. Maybe he feels he needs a little bit of privacy and not someone watching over him. Hey, who can blame him for that, right? Plus, he does enjoy exploring the smells and things in his foster families back yard. He is not overly active and only barks on occassion. You can find Whiskey doing that when he wants to let you know he needs a little love and attention or to alert you that someone is home. He’s ready to give his big heart to a family who will love him back—could that be you? As part of Whiskey’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Whiskey, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2397518##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Whiskey, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
