My story

Meet Gus, lovingly known as Baker, a 6-year-old bulldog mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He came to Big Dog Ranch as a pup alongside his mom and siblings from Miami-Dade County. While his family has since found their homes, Gus is now waiting for his perfect match again. This sweet and affectionate boy was adopted once before, but was returned due to his protective tendencies in the home and being selective with other dogs. Because of this, Gus needs an experienced adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and understanding. He thrives in an environment where boundaries are respected and guidance is provided. Gus has a moderate energy level—he enjoys playtime and walks but also appreciates time to relax and cuddle. He’s great on a leash, housetrained, and knows his basic commands. He’s also a water lover, enjoys toys, and adores cuddles. Gus is good with kids, but a calm and respectful household would suit him best. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion and have experience with dogs, Gus could be the perfect fit.
